How do you get the gunk (hairspray and residue) off a straightening iron?!?
My straightening iron isn’t doing it’s full potential in straightening my hair… There’s gunk on it and doesn’t go through my hair smoothly…. HELP!!!

dawn dish soap and a stiff brush. or even an sos pad and rinse well using a sponge , hang up and let dry in a very warm place. that should clear it up and shine it up to make it pass more smoothly through your hair. just make sure you get all the soap off before using it again.

well i highly doubt you should do this but i personally just scrape it off with a nail file

grab a paper towel and wipe it of with alchol or perocide

i wipe mine off with alcohol or peroxide before heating it up almost everytime. and umm dont scrape it… especially if its ceramic.. anddddd when you heat it up make sure any residue gets burned off and quickly wipe it off again
