How can I ask and convince my parents for a straightening iron?
It’s not that my hair is some monster that NEEDS it, I just want to try a different style. My parents are very strict and won’t let me change my physical appearance. It’s very hard to deal with since they’re old and I’m young and want to try new styles. The farthest they’d let me do was get some blond highlights in my hair that nobody can see cuz it would be considered REBELLIOUS. jeez I’m 13.

Try asking really nicely and see if you can do some extra chores to earn it. Straightening your hair is a lot less dramatic than coloring your hair, and it isn’t permanent. Good luck, girl!

Be really nice to them and then go to the parent you like the best and be really serious and say that you would like to find yourself in a safe manner and to do that you need to explore different styles. Make sure that you are completely polite and if they say no dont get mad just acept it and try again in like a week.
